Tsurumi vs. Honda Generator

There are numerous generators available on the market at a wide array of prices. Some may ask, "Why do Tsurumi generators cost more then their competitors?" When comparing apples to apples, Tsurumi generators have no direct competition. Lets go into some of the differences between Tsurumi and Honda:
There are three manufacturers we consider to be premium contractors: Tsurumi, Honda, and Multiquip. This is important to distinguish as there are several medium and low grade generators also on the market. But our customers demand high quality and low maintenance at a fair price from a company that stands behind what they make. Of the three premium generators, we feel that Tsurumi is not only the best in quality but also the most competitively priced.
Quiet Engine: Tsurumi has the exact same quiet engine as Honda which consists of the oversized muffler, large air filter and vacuum assist on the carburetor choke. Aside from Honda no other manufacturer has this option availabl.
Voltage Regulation: Tsurumi uses a condenser voltage regulator which is less expensive and more durable than Honda’s AVR (automatic voltage regulator). Honda’s AVR does not hold up well in field use for construction applications. It is less durable, more susceptible to burn out due to voltage fluctuation, and more expensive to replace than Tsurumi’s condenser regulator.
Example: Our condenser set lists for only $29.00. Over a recent two year period we have only sold 7 of these. Replacing Honda’s AVR board will cost you over $200.00, according to a local Honda Dealer. This doesn't include money lost having the generator out of service. If you are trying to sell Tsurumi generators to a Honda customer/dealer and they also repair generators, see if you can speak with the service tech. Ask the service tech how often he replaces AVR boards on the Honda generators.
Outlets: Outlets on Tsurumi generators run in parallel while Honda's and many of our competitors' run their outlets in tandem. This means that if one Honda generator outlet burns out at a job site, all of the outlets are rendered useless. On a Tsurumi generator, only one outlet is compromised.
Warranty: Tsurumi generators have a two year warranty on all models. What is your experience with Honda warranties?
End user: When the end user requests a Honda generator, he or she most likely is requesting a generator with a Honda engine and not necessarily a Honda brand generator. Tsurumi offers a nice alternative that is more economical and includes all of the premium features that Honda does and more.
